For many LGBTQ+ people, the affects of hiding ourselves from a young age can have long lasting consequences into adulthood. This can make it more difficult to form fulfilling relationships with others and to identify our needs. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community has meant I have dealt with my share of struggles around my own queerness in society and within myself.
It can be an ever evolving journey to feel more comfortable and confident in yourself. While some people might be looking for a LGBTQ+ therapist in order to help them talk through things related to their sexuality, you might also just be an LGBTQ+ person looking to discuss other areas of your life.
Feeling seen and understood is so integral to moving forward in therapy, which is why it’s so important to me that LGBTQ+ people are able to get the support and care they need in mental health spaces.
I can meet you where you’re at, whether that’s to do with concerns about your sexuality itself or worries you’re having in relationships, at work or in your personal life. Having worked with the LGBTQ+ community since the beginning of my career, I can give you a different, knowledgeable perspective.
