Approach
The name Beyond Linear comes from the idea that progress isn’t always linear, and I want to help you embrace that. Our concept of relationships, happiness and what we want from life can always be expanding and changing, as we do. Growth unfortunately isn’t always a consistent, easy path. Therapy can help you develop the confidence to realise and embrace the things you need in life, and the fortitude to move towards them.
Thinking about the issues in our lives can be overwhelming, like looking at a big, tangled ball of string. Often the idea of pulling on any of those threads can feel too difficult, or you might just not know where to start. I can provide you with the space, the care and the knowledge to look at these issues individually.
I use an integrative approach, with many techniques from ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT and traditional talk therapy. As a person-centred therapist I believe that you are the most knowledgeable person about your own life, but I can help shine a light on some aspects and walk you through different perspectives that might be beneficial. I work with you to find out what works best for you.
I work with people on a short or long term basis. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, interpersonal and family issues, relationship problems, body image / confidence concerns, substance use issues, struggles with sexuality, identity and many other mental health concerns.
